Fire Damages J.Crew Store, Rowdy Hall Restaurant in East Hampton
The fire occurred early Friday morning.
A fire broke out on Main Street in East Hampton early Friday morning causing damage to two buildings, according to East Hampton Village Police.
The East Hampton Fire Department responded at 3:19 a.m. to the fire, which started at the J.Crew store located at 14 Main Street before spreading to Rowdy Hall restaurant at 10 Main Street.
The fire was reported by J.Crewโs alarm company when a smoke detector activated inside the store.

The East Hampton Fire Department was able to put out the blaze before it spread to any other buildings with assistance from the Sag Harbor, Springs and Amagansett fire departments.
The J.Crew building suffered โextensive damageโ while the damage to Rowdy Hall was mostly contained to the second floor, authorities said.

Main Street was closed until 6:15 a.m.
The cause of the fire is not yet known as the village fire marshal investigates.
