SAG HARBOR, NY — When the future is marked with challenges, East End neighbors and friends step up to help.

To that end, a GoFundMe page, "Help James Davis Fight Cancer," was created by Bianca Sullivan after Davis learned he had cancer.

At the end of May, David was diagnosed with blood clots; in addition to the pain of the clots his energy had been flagging, she wrote.

"After further ER visits, tests then biopsies and a diagnosis it was discovered that Jamie had a fairly serious form of cancer," Sullivan said. "James is working with a great team of doctors and nutritionists at Mt. Sinai hospital in Manhattan. He has been undergoing aggressive rounds of chemotherapy and is fighting the cancer with everything he has. Unfortunately, because of the aggressive nature of treatment, Jamie has been unable to return to work and his total attention is now on health and healing. It’s a very complicated new 'job' that involves coordinating appointments, treatments, procedures, and mounting hospital bills."

The goal, Sullivan said, is for Davis to continue to be able to focus on beating the cancer without financial burdens.

"The funds raised here will help Jamie navigate the next several months without having to worry about paying those bills so he can turn all his attention to his healing. Jamie is surrounded by love from so many of you. It has been invaluable to him over the last several months. Thank you for everything you are doing, anything you can contribute here, and your ongoing support and prayers," she said.
