GERSON LEIBER’S SCULPTURE:

CENTERPIECE IN ACCLAIMED SCULPTURE GARDEN

Throughout the worlds of art and fashion the handbags of Judith Leiber and the paintings of Gerson Leiber, many of which are on exhibit at the Leiber Collection, are known and admired. Few people, however, know that Gerson Leiber is also an accomplished sculptor. His recent piece, The Human Condition, has not only received positive critical reviews, but it is the centerpiece of the Leiber’s sculpture garden, which also contains the sculptures of numerous artists. The sculpture garden is one of seven gardens on the grounds of the Leiber Collection. Each of the gardens was designed in a different style by Gerson Leiber over a period of several years. Those visiting the Leiber collection to view the artful handbags of Judith Leiber and modernist paintings of Gerson Leiber regularly stroll through the sculpture garden and then go on to enjoy the other gardens. It’s a delightful way to spend a summer afternoon.

It is all open free-of-charge to visitors every Saturday, Sunday, and Wednesday from Memorial Day to Labor Day from 1 PM to 4 PM. It is located at 446 Old Stone Highway, Springs, East Hampton, NY. The website is www.leibercollection.org
