Hampton Lifeguard Association Hosts Kick-Off Benefit

EAST HAMPTON, NY — A veritable harbinger of summer, the Hampton Lifeguard Association is set to kick off the 2022 season with a fundraising event.

The benefit will be held on Saturday, May 7, from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Main Beach in East Hampton. The Beach Hut on Main will offer takeout food and beverages during the event; to order online, click here.

The event will also feature live music from Josh Brussels and a 50/50 raffle. Donations to HLA can be made here; click on the “donate-HLA” tab.

According to a release, Hampton Lifeguard Association’s mission is to "waterproof Long Island's South Fork."

HLA is a chapter of the United States Lifeguard Association and a 501(c)(3) non-profit tax-exempt organization. HLA supports programs including a lifeguard training program — that program is in its 46th year — as well as a tournament competition, the junior lifeguard program, in its 25th year, a tournament competition, a volunteer ocean rescue squad, in its 16th year, the East Hampton YMCA Hurricane Swim Club, in its 20th year, and in-school swim programs.
