LIRR Adding Extra Trains to the Hamptons For Fourth of July Weekend
Customers will have additional train options starting on Wednesday.

The Long Island Rail Road will be adding extra trains to Montauk and the Hamptons for the Fourth of July holiday weekend.
Beginning on Wednesday, customers planning an early getaway will have afternoon train options from Penn Station.
There will also be an extra Cannonball to Montauk on top of the Railroadβs already enhanced summer Montauk Branch schedule.

On Saturday and Sunday, the trains will run on a regular weekday schedule for customers heading to the Hamptons for local parades and celebrations.

Wednesday, July 1:
Regular summer weekday Montauk Branch service plus a train that usually runs on Thursdays, nicknamed the Baby Cannonball, which is an express train to Montauk departing Penn Station at 4:06 p.m.
This train will bypass Jamaica and run express to Westhampton, with stops at Southampton, Bridgehampton and East Hampton before ending at Montauk. In addition, the usual 5:09 p.m. train to Speonk will be extended to Montauk, making all stops from Babylon to Montauk.
Thursday, July 2: :
The Montauk Branch will operate on a regular summer Friday timetable, including the Cannonball, leaving Penn Station at 4:06 p.m., and a Montauk-bound train departing Jamaica at 7:38 p.m., with connecting trains departing Penn Station at 7:11 p.m. and Atlantic Terminal, Brooklyn, at 7:06 p.m. In addition, the usual 5:09 p.m. train from Penn Station to Speonk will be extended to Montauk, making all stops from Babylon to Montauk.
Friday, July 3:
The Montauk Branch will operate on a regular summer Friday timetable, including the Cannonball, which will leave Penn Station at 4:06 p.m., and a Montauk-bound train which will depart from Jamaica at 7:38 p.m., with connecting trains departing Penn Station at 7:11 p.m. and Atlantic Terminal, Brooklyn, at 7:06 p.m.
In addition, the usual 10:27 a.m. train from Babylon, with connecting trains departing from Penn Station at 9:22 a.m. and Atlantic Terminal, Brooklyn, at 9:05 a.m., will be extended to Montauk, making all stops from Babylon to Montauk. And the usual 5:09 p.m. train from Penn Station to Speonk will be extended to Montauk, making all stops from Babylon to Montauk.
Saturday, July 4 and Sunday, July 5:
The LIRR will be running on a regular weekend schedule with a westbound Cannonball departing Montauk on Sunday only at 6:37 p.m.
