Local Company to Launch New Job Hubs on Long Island

Deepwater Wind will be detailing its plan to jumpstart the offshore wind industry creating jobs for hundreds of local construction workers.

Deepwater Wind will be joined by local government and labor officials on Tuesday to detail its plans to jumpstart the offshore wind industry on Long Island, employing hundreds of local construction workers in good-paying jobs.

Deepwater Wind has proposed bringing 200 megawatts of renewable energy from its Deepwater ONE offshore wind farm – located roughly 30 miles east of Montauk, out of sight from land – to Long Island’s East End.

If approved, Deepwater ONE would bring significant new investment and jobs to Long Island, as well as a much-needed source of new, renewable energy.
