10:00-11:20am

$360 per child for six-week session / $345 LongHouse members

Nature’s Music is a very special program designed to introduce children, ages 16 months (walkers) - four, to music in a natural setting - and what can be more beautiful and natural than the grounds of LongHouse Reserve? In this six-week parent-child program, children celebrate music and nature by exploring a different theme each week: trees, insects, weather, water, flowers, and more. Led by Marlene Markard, we sing, dance, move, play instruments, engage in imaginative storytelling, crafts, and musical games, while exploring the beauty around us. All our activities are intended to foster a life-long love of music and nature. Spaces are limited so sign up quickly; you won’t want to miss this much-anticipated experience.

Helping Hands Keep LongHouse Reserve Garden Growing

Now in its third year, the dedicated crew of LH garden volunteers continue to be an integral part of our devoted and hard-working team. As our gardens are always growing and expanding, we are looking to add new volunteers for the 2018 season. Whether a seasoned veteran or a novice with a real passion to learn, take advantage of the chance to work and learn alongside Horticulturist Alex Feleppa by emailing alex@longhouse.org.

As LH is now in its 27th season, a goal of ours is to have an accurate digital map of the garden and its collections. Thanks to LaGuardia Design (www.laguardiadesigngroup.com) we are making great strides towards achieving this mission. We thank Chris and Jane LaGuardia and their company for their expertise and commitment to our local community.

This year we are also thrilled to announce that the professionals from Hedges and Gardens (www.hedgesandgardens.com) will be assisting us with a portion (2 acres) of our garden maintenance. Hedges and Gardens is a full-service landscape, maintenance, and lawn care company based in East Hampton.

LongHouse Reserve is always happy to discuss potential partnerships with our horticultural colleagues here on the East End. If you are a business owner and interested in exploring the many ways in which we can work together, please contact alex@longhouse.org.
