Man, 71, Chokes, Shoves Woman: Police
He grabbed her by the neck then shoved her, police say.

EAST HAMPTON, NY — An East Hampton man was arrested after he choked and shoved a woman, police said.
According to East Hampton Town Police, Michael Zaharek, 71, was arrested on Sept. 30 at 9:24 p.m. and charged with criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation, applying pressure, a misdemeanor, and second degree harassment, physical contact, a violation.
Zaharek used his right hand to grab his victim by the neck, pushing upwards and applying pressure and causing pain and noticeable redness to her neck; he then let go and shoved the woman, causing her to fall backward and hurt her left arm on the window, which caused pain and redness to both her neck and left arm, police said.

He was released on his own recognizance, police said.
