Man, 72, Hit, Pushed Victim, Violated Order Of Protection: Cops

The man is facing a felony charge, police say.

EAST HAMPTON, NY β€” An East Hampton man was arrested after he hit and knocked a victim to the ground, violating an order of protection, police said.

According to East Hampton Town Police, Robert E. Turner, 72, was arrested on Jan. 28 at 12:57 a.m. after he hit the victim "with an open hand on the leg" and pushed the victim to the ground, police said.

He was charged with first degree criminal contempt, violating an order of protection, physical contact, a felony, police said. He was also charged with second degree harassment, physical contact, a violation, police said.

He was released on his own recognizance, police said.
