Man Busted, Caught With Controlled Substance: Cops

EAST HAMPTON, NY — An East Hampton man was busted after he was caught in possession of a controlled substance, police said.

According to New York State Police, Philip J. Galanes, Jr., 55, was arrested on April 25 at 10:30 p.m. on Sunrise Highway near Exit 64 in East Quogue and charged with seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance after he was stopped for a vehicle and traffic violation and was found in possession of controlled substance pills.

Galanes was transported to New York State Police Barracks Riverside where he was processed and issued an appearance ticket; he is due back at Riverhead Justice Court on May 7, police said.
