Man Caught Speeding While Impaired By Drugs: Cops
He "collapsed to the ground" while exiting his vehicle, police say.

EAST HAMPTON, NY — A Bohemia man was arrested after he was caught driving while ability impaired by drugs, police said.
According to East Hampton Town Police, Gennaro A. Viteritti, 52, was arrested on May 29 at 1:26 a.m. on Springy Banks Road in East Hampton where he was stopped while driving a 2007 Chrysler south near Treescape Drive while impaired by drugs and speeding 50 miles per hour in a 30 mile per hour zone with inadequate tail lamps.
Upon contact, Viteritti's "movements were animated, his pupils were dilated, his eyes were darting, his jaw was clenched, his speech was slurred, he had trouble focusing, he appeared to have trouble holding his head up, he was sweating profusely, his speech was rambling, and he appeared to have a dry mouth," police said.

Upon exiting the vehicle, Viteritti had trouble standing and he "collapsed to the ground and was unable to perform any field sobriety testing," police said.
He was found with three glass pipes containing a white residue in a backpack on the passenger floor of the Chrysler that later field tested positive for the presence of methamphetamine, police said.

He was arrested and charged with three counts of seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor; DWAI by drugs, prior conviction of designated offense within 10 years, a felony; and use leased/rented/loaned vehicle not equipped with an interlock device, a misdemeanor, police said.
He was released into the custody of the Suffolk County Sheriff's Office, police said.
