Man Charged With Engaging In Sexual Conduct With Child: Police

EAST HAMPTON, NY — A Bridgehampton man was charged with engaging in sexual conduct with a child under the age of 13 in East Hampton, police said.

According to East Hampton Town Police, Jose Xiomar Vijil Villanueva, 49, was arrested on Friday at 11 a.m. and charged with second-degree course of sexual conduct; a person older than 17 engaging in two or more acts of sexual conduct with a child less than 13, a felony. He was also charged with acting in a manner injurious to a child under 17, a misdemeanor, police said.

Police said that from September 1, 2020 to July 11, 2021, Villanueva, at a home in East Hampton, engaged in two or more acts of sexual conduct with a child less than 13 years old.

He was held on $25,000 cash bail or $50,000 bond and remanded to the Suffolk County Correctional Facility, police said.
