Man Charged With Felony DWI After Swerving Into Oncoming Traffic: PD
He was arrested just after 8 a.m., police say.

AMAGANSETT, NY — An Amagansett man was arrested and charged with felony driving while intoxicated after swerving into oncoming traffic earlier this month, police said.
Andres Jose-Juan, 27, was arrested on January 12 at about 8:28 a.m. on Indian Wells Highway in Amagansett and charged with aggravated DWI, per se .18 of 1 percent alcohol or more in blood, a felony; DWI, prior conviction within 10 years, a felony; unlawfully fleeing a police officer, a misdemeanor; second-degree obstruction of governmental administration, a misdemeanor; and reckless driving, a misdemeanor, East Hampton Town police said.
He was seen driving a brown 2005 Ford south on Indian Wells Highway near Further Lane with an expired inspection sticker, police said. Jose-Juan refused to stop on Skimhampton Road for police, who had activated their lights and sirens, officials said. He was then seen driving recklessly at an excess and unsafe speed and crossing into the oncoming lane of traffic, causing a motorist to "aggressively swerve to avoid a collision" on Montauk Highway, police said.
