
EAST HAMPTON, NY — An East Hampton was busted after he was caught driving drunk, police said.
According to East Hampton Town Police, John Jara, 28, was arrested on April 1 at 1:28 a.m. on Three Mile Harbor Road and charged with operating a motor vehicle with .08 of 1% or more alcohol, prior conviction of designated offense within 10 years, a felony, as well as DWI, previous conviction of designated offense within 10 years, a felony, police said.
Jara was driving a gray 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee south on Three Mile Harbor Road near Karlsruhe Cross Highway and failed to maintain his lane of travel by crossing over the pavement markings of the solid white line several times, police said.

Upon contact, Jara was found to have the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath, bloodshot, glassy eyes, slurred speech, and he performed poorly on all field sobriety tests, police said.
Cash bail was set at $2,000, police said.
