Man Punched, Kicked, Dragged Woman, Took Phone So She Couldn't Call For Help: Police
BREAKING: The man pushed the woman to the ground where he kicked, punched and dragged her, police said.

EAST HAMPTON, NY — An East Hampton man was arrested after he knocked down a woman, then kicked, punched and dragged her, police said.
According to East Hampton Town Police, Ivan Marcelo Ruiz-Chumbique, 36, was arrested on March 10 at 10 a.m. on Queens Lane.
He was charged with second degree harassment, physical contact, a violation, after he knocked a woman to the ground and proceeded to "repeatedly" punch and kick her while dragging her by the hood of her sweatshirt, police said.

Ruiz-Chumbique was also charged with fourth degree criminal mischief, disabling equipment to prevent emergency call to protect from physical harm, a misdemeanor, after he "took possession of, and subsequently refused to relinquish control of the cell phone" belonging to the woman, police said.
He was released on his own recognizance, police said.
