Police: Man Who Invaded Bridgehampton Home, Pistol-Whipped Resident, Arrested

A man responsible for a home invasion in Bridgehampton last month was arrested byΒ Southampton Town Police detectives with help from the U.S. Marshalls NY/NJ Regional Fugitive Task Force last week, police said Tuesday.

Police received a 911 call on Aug. 12 from a residence on Sag Harbor/Bridgehampton Turnpike. The occupants told police an armed suspect forced entry, pistol whipped one of the occupants, and demanded money and drugs. He fled from the residence before police arrived, taking a Playstation 4, Xbox One, an iPad and a small amount of marijuana, police said. One resident suffered injuries and required hospitalization at Stony Brook University Hospital.

Last Thursday, Keriam Beauford, 27, of Amityville, was located and arrested in Nassau County, police said. He was charged with burglary in the first degree, assault in the first degree, robbery in the first degree and criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree.

Beauford was held overnight at Southampton Town Police Headquarters and brought to Southampton Justice Court on Friday, Sept. 26 where he was remanded to jail.
