Montauk Fire Department Swears In New Officers: Photos
The beloved tradition takes place every year on New Year's Day.
EAST HAMPTON, NY — A beloved tradition unfolded in Montauk to welcome in 2018: Every New Year's Day the Montauk Fire Department formally announces and swears in the officers for the new year. This year was no different, as Montauk Fire Department Chief Vincent Franzone, First Assistant Chief David Ryan and Second Assistant Chief Mitchell "Mickey" Valcich welcomed families and friends at the firehouse to congratulate and to celebrate.
Montauk Fire District Commissioner and Ex-Chief Richard Schoen did the swearing in. Joseph Dryer, Chairman of the Montauk Fire District Commissioners, took the oath from newly elected Commissioner James Wright.
