Montauk Man Killed In Crash

MONTAUK, NY — A Montauk man was killed in a single-car crash on Sunday, police said.

According to East Hampton Town Police, Dennis O'Grady, 50, was driving a 2005 Mercedes-Benz north on Star Island Road when his vehicle veered off the roadway at 1 p.m. and struck a tree.

O'Grady was extricated from the vehicle by Montauk Fire Department personnel and was transported to Southampton Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, police said.

The Mercedes was impounded for safety checks and the investigation is ongoing; anyone with information is asked to call East Hampton Town Police at 631-537-7575, police said. All calls will be kept confidential.
