New Officers and Board Members Join The Retreat
Two new Board of Directors members and a new slate of officers were recently appointed.

The Retreat, a local domestic violence services agency, recently announced that they appointed two new Board of Directors members and a new slate of officers for 2015.
Gail Rothwell, owner of Gail Rothwell Ltd. a local woman’s clothing store, will be serving as President of The Retreat for the next two years.
“I am honored to have been elected as the new President,” Rothwell said. “The Retreat is at the forefront of multiple initiatives to provide domestic violence services for our community members and it is an exciting time to oversee the organization’s activities.”

Joy Bunson, an accomplished human resources executive and longtime board member, has been elected Vice President; Arlene Slavin, a local artist, was selected as Secretary.
Steven J. Bergerson, CPA, will remain Treasurer and Richard Demato will remain Vice President of Development.

There will be two new members will be joining the Board of Directors: Stephen B. Latham and Sheri Sandler.
“We are delighted to welcome Steve and Sheri to the Board. Both of our newest members have strong ties to our community and bring a diverse skill set to make a difference in the lives of our clients,” Loretta K. Davis, Executive Director. “I look forward to working with them and hearing their perspective of how we can strengthen our programs and broaden our community of supporters.”
Latham, The Retreat’s newest board member, is a Senior Partner at Twomey, Latham, Shea, Kelley, Dubin and Quartararo, LLP.
His practice areas are commercial and residential real estate development and commercial and environmental litigation.
He has served as special counsel to the City of Glen Cove and the City of Long Beach and has been an adjunct faculty member at Williams College, Former Chairman of the Environmental Law Committee of the Suffolk County Bar Association.
Latham’s volunteer resume includes service at the East Hampton Youth Alliance and Children’s Museum of the East End.
He has been a partner at Twomey, Latham for 37 years and an East Hampton resident since 1977.
Sandler joined the Board of Directors of The Retreat in December 2014.
She is self employed, having formerly worked with Cooper Hewitt, National Design Museum and the Smithsonian Institution.
has extensive volunteer experience, including the New York Women’s Foundation, Jewish Women’s Archive, the Ackerman Institute for Family Therapy, MS Foundation Safety Funding Circle and the Amagansett Food Institute.
Sandler’s husband, Mark Schneider, is the Executive Producer of The Chew on ABC.
