'Nutcracker' To Delight Holiday Audiences at Guild Hall

This year's production will be the eighth annual presented by the Hampton Ballet Theatre School.

EAST HAMPTON, NY — Visions of sugar plums and magical Christmas memories will come to life as the Hampton Ballet Theatre School presents their eighth annual production of the Nutcracker at Guild Hall in East Hampton.

Tchaikovsky’s beloved ballet will come to life on Friday, December 9 at 7 p.m., Saturday, December 10 at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. and Sunday, December 11 at 2 p.m. at Guild Hall’s John Drew Theater, located at 158 Main Street in East Hampton.

Advance tickets cost $20 for children under 12 years of age and $25 for adults for general orchestra seating. Day of performance tickets sales are $25 for children under 12 years of age and $30 for adults for regular orchestra seating. Premium orchestra, box seats, balcony and group rates are also available.

The ballet is choreographed by the director of HBTS, Sara Jo Strickland, and includes costumes designed and hand sewn by Yuka Silvera and lighting design by Sebastian Paczynski.

Resident guest artists Adam and Gail Baranello of A&G Dance Company will be danc­ing the Arabian Prince and Princess. Sharing the roles of Dew Drop Princess and Snow Queen will be Abigail Hubbell and Caitlin Hubbell, both pro student level 6 at HBTS.

And dancing the role of Sugar Plum Fairy will be Rose Kelly, also pro student level 6 at HBTS. The role of Cavalier will be danced by Nick Peregrino. Timothy Sloan will be dancing the role of Dew Drop Prince and Juan Carlos will dance the role of Snow King.

"Hampton Ballet Theatre School’s Nutcracker will enchant those of all ages, as the students of HBTS transport the audience to a land where angels, snowflakes and flowers dance and Clara saves the Nutcracker Prince from the evil Mouse King. The Nutcracker will produce holiday cheer for all, as everyone celebrates in the Land of Sweets," a release said.
