Passenger Injured After Falling Out of Car While Driving on Egypt Beach

The woman claimed she was run over by the back tires after she fell out, police said.

A Sagaponack woman was hospitalized after falling out of a car on Egypt Beach in East Hampton back in June, East Hampton Village Police reported on Tuesday.

Angel Santamarina, 21, told police that he was driving west on the beach when the front seat passenger, Grace Gill, 19, fell from the car on June 27 at about 4 a.m., according to the police report.

He stopped and found her about 10 feet behind the car, complaining of pain and having difficulty breathing, according to the report.

He told police that Gill did not want him to call an ambulance and transported her to a private residence, according to the report.

Gill told police the passenger door opened as the car was moving, causing her to fall out and be run over by the back passenger tire, according to the report.

She was transported to Southampton Hospital in a private car several hours later, police said.

The other four passengers in the car were uninjured and told police they did not see her get run over, police said.

No criminal charges were filed.
