Police: Man Arrested After Buying Alcohol For Teen in East Hampton Village
The man was charged with unlawfully dealing with a child, police say.

An East Hampton man was arrested after buying alcohol for a teenager in East Hampton Village on Saturday night, according to Village Police.
A local officer saw Alexander Fernandez, 22, buying a large plastic bottle of vodka and give it to an unidentified male who appeared to be underage, police said.
The officer then saw the unidentified person place the bottle, which was in a brown paper handle bag, in his black backpack and ride his bike on the sidewalk near Park Place, police said.

The officer approached the Fernandez in the Reutershan parking lot and when the officer identified himself, he attempted to run away, police said.
He was then caught by the officer at Latin Express on Park Place, according to police.

Fernandez then admitted to buying the bottle for the unidentified male, police said.
Another officer who was informed of the situation, stopped the identified male by Starbucks on Main Street, police said.
When he asked where the vodka was he said he tried to hide it in the Starbucks bathroom, police said.
Police found the bottle and confirmed that it was the same bottle that was purchased earlier.
The male was discovered to be 16-years-old, police said.
Fernandez was arrested for first degree unlawfully dealing with a child and transported to headquarters, police said.
The teen was issued a violation for riding his bicycle on public sidewalks and was released to his father at headquarters, police said.
Fernandez was released on a $200 cash bail and issued an appearance ticket for September 24.
