Police: Two Cabs Cause Accidents on Flamingo Avenue
The accidents both occurred on the same day.

Two accidents on Flamingo Avenue in Montauk caused by taxis occurred hours apart on Friday.
The first accident occurred at 6:45 p.m. when a taxi from the Surf Transportation of Montauk, driven by Thomas McMorrow, 59, of New York City, struck a Ford pick up truck driven by Joseph Hodnik, 52, of Montauk, according to the East Hampton Town Police report.
Hodnik was traveling south west on Flamingo Avenue when he was hit by the taxi, which failed to yield before entering the roadway, according to the report.

Hodnik was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital for a head injury and McMorrow was taken to Southampton Hospital for minor injuries, according to 27east.
The second accident occurred at 10:30 p.m. when a taxi, driven by Stalenyn Diaz, 24, of New York City, hit a bicyclist, Gavin Smith, 21, of Montauk, according to the police report.

Diaz told police that he was crossing the intersection of Flamingo Avenue and Kirk Avenue and did not see Smith on his bicycle, according to the report.
Smith was unable to avoid the collision and fell over once he was hit, according to the report.
He was taken to Southampton Hospital for minor injuries, according to 27east.
