Kathee Burke-Gonzalez Wins East Hampton Supervisor's Race: BOE

It was a Democratic sweep in East Hampton town on Election Night.

EAST HAMPTON, NY — The results are in and the voters have spoken in East Hampton Town.

According to unofficial results by the Suffolk County Board of Elections, in the race for town supervisor, as of 12:21 p.m., with no districts left to report, Kathee Burke-Gonzalez, a Democrat, won by a wide margin, with 67.61 percent of the vote; Republican Gretta Leon had 32.25 percent.

Democrats also took the lead in the race for town board, with David Lys securing 4,330 votes, or 34.68 percent, and Tom Flight, 4,037 votes, or 32.33 percent. GOP candidate Scott Smith garnered 2,078 votes, or 16.64 percent, and Michael Wootton received 2,037, or 16.31 percent.

In the race for East Hampton Town justice, Democrat Dave Flier won with 3,929 votes, or 60.87 percent; GOP candidate Brian Lester received 2,524 votes, or 39.10 percent.

In the race for town trustee, all nine winners were Democrats, including John Aldred, David Cataletto, Tim Garneau, Francis Block, James Grimes, Benjamin Dollinger, Bill Taylor, Patricia Dalton, and Celia Josephson securing the seats.
