Sand Castle Contest Set For Saturday
The 22nd annual East Hampton Sand Castle Contest is shaping up. Will you test your talents beside the sea?

The 22nd Annual East Hampton Sand Castle Contest will take place this Saturday on Atlantic Beach in Amagansett.
The event will start at 9 a.m. with five group brackets for participants to enter in: Sand Fleas for children up to age 8 with one adult leader; Sand Hoppers for ages 9-15; Sand Tribes for families; Sand Shapers for adults and Sand Pros for professionals. There is a maximum number of 6 people per group, and a registration fee of $10 will be charged with a completed entry form. The money raised through registration fees, sale of the tee-shirts, merchandise and other donations go to helping a variety of charitable causes promoted and assisted by The Clamshell Foundation.
The contest will end at 3 p.m. with trophies and prizes being awarded to the top three placeholders. Any tool is acceptable to work with, but only items native to the beach can be part of the final sculpture.

Entries will be judged based on originality, animation, texture, group fun and quality of work.
