Search On For Man Who Put Cell Phone Under Woman's Skirt: Police

BREAKING: The incident took place at HomeGoods in Wainscott, police said.

EAST HAMPTON, NY — Police are searching for a man wanted for unlawful surveillance after he put a cell phone under a woman's skirt at HomeGoods in Wainscott recently, authorities said.

According to Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and East Hampton Town Police, detectives are seeking the public's help to identify and locate the man who entered HomeGoods, located at 368 Montauk Highway, on August 10 at 3 pm., approached a woman from behind, then put the cell phone under her skirt without her knowledge.

The woman's friends observed the man as he fled the store, police said.

The man is described as white and approximately 40 years old; he had paint on his shorts and hands, police said.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
