Small Fire At Montauk LIRR Yard Cancels Train Sunday Night

MONTAUK, NY — A fire reported at the Montauk Long Island Rail Road station Sunday night led to the cancellation of one train for those heading west Sunday night, the MTA LIRR said.

According to the MTA LIRR, there was a small fire in the Montauk yard Sunday night. The fire was quickly extinguished and nobody was injured, officials said.

Due to the fire, the LIRR advised customers at 6:55 p.m. that the 7:42 p.m. train from Montauk to Jamaica was canceled, the MTA LIRR said.
