Stop and Shop Announces Opening Dates For Hamptons Stores

The stores will be opening at the former Waldbaum's stores in East Hampton and Southampton.

Stop and Shop recently announced the opening dates for two new supermarket opening up in the Hamptons next week.

The supermarket company announced that starting on Thursday, they will begin converting the 25 A&P stores it acquired after the company filed for bankruptcy in July.

Two of the stores that will be converted include the former Waldbaum’s stores in East Hampton on 67 Newtown Lane and in Southampton on 167 Main Street.

Both stores, which are the first new stores in the acquisition to open, are scheduled to host their grand openings on Friday, Oct. 16.

“We are very excited to begin the store conversion process, and we will strive to minimize the inconvenience to customers,” Don Sussman, president of Stop and Shop New York Metro Division said. “Stop & Shop is committed to improving the overall shopping experience in these 25 stores to meet the quality, selection and savings that customers have come to expect from us.”

The stores are already looking to hire new employee. Applicants can apply at the Hampton Bays Stop and Shop on Montauk Highway, or at the Riverhead Stop and Shop on Old Country Road, or at stopandshop.com
