Here's a guide to the best of the patriotic red, white and blue festivities in the Hamptons and on the North Fork this holiday weekend.

It's Memorial Day, the official start to the summer season, when the East End bursts into life with fairs, festivals, and an endless supply of fun.

Here's a list of the Top 10 events this weekend in the Hamptons and on the North Fork, so you won't miss a minute of the Memorial Day happenings.

8th Annual Memorial Day Art Show on Montauk Village Green

Head to the Montauk Village Green Friday through Sunday for the 8th Annual Memorial Day Weekend on the Montauk Green art show.

Over Memorial Day Weekend the Montauk Village Green blossoms into an outdoor gallery of original, handmade art by artisans from across America. Through extraordinary vision, talent and skills artisans weave a tapestry from creations in painting, sculpture, jewelry, photography, glass, ceramics, woodworking and more. Art lovers can also commission a piece of art made specifically for them.

All artisans are available throughout the show.

The art show is open Friday from noon to 6 p.m. and both Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission is free. For additional information, click here.

Southampton Memorial Day Parade

The parade kicks off Monday at 10:45 a.m. at the Presbyterian Church on Main Street, and continues down Jobs Lane to Agawam Par. A memorial service takes place at 11 a.m. following the parade. Refreshments will be served at Veteran’s Memorial Hall.

Greenport Fire Department Carnival

The Greenport Fire Department Star Hose Company presents its annual carnival at the Polo Grounds on Moores Lane through Sunday from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. Enjoy pay-one-price specials, games, rides, and food.

Fireworks are scheduled for Saturday night at 10 p.m., with a rain date slated for Sunday. For additional information, click here.

20th Annual Community Mosaic Street Painting Festival

The 20th Annual Community Mosaic Street Painting Festival takesplace Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. on East Main Street in downtown RIverhead, between Roanoke Avenue and East Avenue and on the grounds of East End Arts.

Admission is free.

The festival is a favorite Memorial Day weekend tradition bringing a crowd, including families and friends who turn out to enjoy art, music and fun in a day-long celebration.

The event centers around a street painting festival that harkens back to the Italian street painters who practiced "I Madonnari", a street chalk art form dating back to the 16th century.

Street painting squares sponsored by businesses, families, and individuals are used as a canvas for inspirations in chalk.

The festival is a fundraiser for East End Arts scholarships and also includes a fine arts and crafts fair, live music, food trucks, face painting, drumming, dance, theater, children's activities and more.

Street painters over 14 are encouraged to register in advance. Pre-registered street painters will be matched with a sponsored square on a first-come-first-serve basis. Street painting squares may also be purchased for $20 on the day of the event. Materials included.

A rain date is scheduled for Monday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

New Suffolk Chowder Festival

The 8th Annual New Suffolk Waterfront Chowderfest is slated to take place on Saturday, May 28 from noon to 3 p.m. A rain date is scheduled for May 30.

The popular event will once again feature a delicious array of local chowders, an all-American barbecue lunch, face painting and activities for kids, a Chinese auction, music, a flower sale with 50 varieties of perennials, and fun for all.

The festival will take place at First and Main Street in New Suffolk. Tickets cost $25; purchase online or call 631-566-0806. Kids under 12 eat free.

Parking will be organized at Wickham's Fruit Farm, 28700 Main Road, Cutchogue, with a shuttle to the Chowderfest.

The event is hosted by the New Suffolk Waterfront Fund. All proceeds go toward the continuing revitalization of the New Suffolk Waterfront property.

Southampton Artists Association Memorial Day Art Show

Held at the Levitas Center for the Arts in the Southampton Cultural Center, 25 Pond Lane, the Southampton Artists Association Memorial Day Art Show runs all weekend with an opening reception on Saturday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. - The event features oils, acrylics, watercolor, pastel, mixed media, sculpture and photography, Bin items also for sale. the show runs Friday and Saturday noon to 6 p.m. and Sunday through Thursday, noon to 4 p.m. The show runs through Sunday, June 5.

Animal Rescue Fund of the Hamptons' 6th Annual Designer Showhouse

The 6th Annual Designer Showhouse vignettes are inspired and arranged by guest designers from thrift shop donations and the designers’ personal collections. All items are for sale at charity prices and 100 percent of the proceeds benefit the animals at ARF.

The cocktail party and sale takes place Saturday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the ARF Thrift & Treasure Shop, 17 Montauk Highway, corner of Poxabogue Lane, in Sagaponack. 5 p.m. Exclusive Preview Hour, $250, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m Cocktail Reception, $150. North Fork Memorial Day ceremonies

Remember those who have died in the service of the United States of America.

A Greenport Memorial Day parade begins Monday at 10 a.m. at Steamboat Corner (intersection of Broad Street, Main Street and 1st Street) and heads down Main Street.

And that's not all that's happening nearby on Memorial Day. Scouts will place a memorial wreath at the Railroad Dock on the Greenport waterfront at 8 a.m.

In Orient, a parade kicks off at 7:30 a.m. at the Orient Firehouse on Main Road.

The Mattituck Fire Department will also host a memorial service at the Pike Street memorial monument at 8 a.m., followed by a parade.

Riverhead Combined Veterans Parade

The annual tradition kicks off at 10 a.m. Monday at the World War II memorial in Riverhead, which is located at Pulaski Street and Osborn Avenue. The parade wends its way down Main Street. A memorial service follows.

Vines & Canines Educational Vineyard Walk

Bring your four-legged friend on a walk through the vines Monday at 10 a.m. at Martha Clara Vineyards on Sound Avenue. Bring a non-perishable food donation for local shelters. For details, click here.
