EAST HAMPTON, NY — East Hampton Town officials are reaching out to the public for input on a new senior center.

Last year, East Hampton Town acquired seven acres of land, located at 403 Abrahams Path in Amagansett, for $1.6 million, as a new senior center location. In December, after reviewing various proposals, the board selected R2 Architecture to design the project.

Three community engagement sessions have been scheduled to provide opportunities for members of the public and the architectural team to discuss community needs, as well as visions for the design of the new center.

The first will be held virtually, via Zoom, on Wednesday, May 18, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The second session is scheduled for Friday, May 20, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the East Hampton Town Senior Center, located at 129 Springs-Fireplace Road in East Hampton. The project architects will be at the center to meet with seniors who use the facility as well as other members of the public. They will be set up in the lounge, for informal discussions.
