Two East Hampton Village Stores Report Thefts

Two clothing stores reported having clothing stolen on the same day last week, police say.

Two East Hampton Village stores reported having items stolen last Thursday, according to East Hampton Village Police.

A manager at the clothing store Intermix, located on Main Street, reported that a pair of pants and a shirt were stolen from the store at 3:26 p.m. on July 16, according to the police report.

The items, worth a total of $1,208, were taken into the dressing room by unidentified persons, who then walked out of the store, according to the police report.

The manager told police the security tags on the clothing set off the alarm as they left, according to the report.

Police searched the area but did not find the people responsible, according to the report.

In addition, an employee at Zimmerman, a clothing store located on Newtown Lane, reported that an unknown person stole a blouse and short set at 3:02 p.m. on July 16, according to the police report.

The clothes were worth a total of $565, according to the report.
