U.S. Postal Service Employee Arrested After Sexually Abusing 15-Year-Old In Postal Services Vehicle: PD

EAST HAMPTON, NY — A Moriches man was arrested after sexually abusing a 15-year-old in a United States postal services vehicle, police said.

According to East Hampton Town police, the incident took place on Friday at 4:45 p.m.

The abuse was disclosed by the child to school officials who immediately contacted the police, authorities said.

Jenry S. Buestan Gutama, 23, was arrested and charged with one count of first-degree rape, a Class B felony; and endangering the welfare of a child, a Class A misdemeanor, police said.

Following an investigation conducted by the East Hampton Town Police Department's detective division, in conjunction with the USPS Office of the Inspector General, it was determined that Buestan Gutama, an employee of the United States Postal Service, was operating a U.S. Postal Service vehicle in East Hampton at the time of the incident, with the juvenile as a passenger, police said.

It was further determined that the juvenile is familiar with Buestan Gutama, police said.

Buestan Gutama was held at East Hampton Town Police Department headquarters and is scheduled to be arraigned at East Hampton Town Justice Court on Saturday, police said.
