EAST HAMPTON, NY - A vehicle struck a Long Island Rail Road bridge east of East Hampton Station Saturday morning. LIRR service is temporarily suspended between East Hampton and Montauk in both directions due to the crash, the LIRR said on its <a href="http://www.mta.info/status/LIRR/Montauk/24276498" rel="noopener nofollow" target="_blank">website</a>. The 8:10 a.m. train from Jamaica due in Montauk at 10:49 a.m. remains delayed at East Hampton. The LIRR is attempting to secure buses to provide alternate service.

Ask which native plants will thrive in your yard, how to get started, or how to add more.
From 10 - 10:30 am, meet today's Fab Five natives — hardy, low-maintenance, and loved by pollinators. And available now.
ReWild native plant experts will be there until 1 pm — drop in any time to browse, ask questions, and talk native plants.
Bring the kids — they'll love learning why native plants attract butterflies and hummingbirds.

ReWild: Ask the Experts: Grow Your Pollinator Garden

ReWild Long Island is accepting applications for its 2026 Summer Environmental Internship in East Hampton, Amagansett, Montauk and Sag Harbor. Open to students in grades 8–12.
Interns grow organic food for local pantries, protect native pollinators, farm oysters, compost, and build real teamwork and leadership skills. They work alongside experienced environmentalists and leave knowing they made a genuine contribution to their community.
Flexible hours. Community service credit. Stipend.
