AMAGANSETT, NY — A beloved annual summer event in Amagansett, the Clamshell Foundation's Sandcastle Contest, now in its 29th year, was canceled due to the coronavirus. But the fun continues Saturday, with a virtual contest planned.

"We miss you and are sad we were not able to host our annual Sandcastle Contest in person this year," said Kori Peters, president of The Clamshell Foundation, said. "To keep the tradition going strong, we invite you to compete virtually! No matter if you are at the beach or in your backyard, send us your creation big or small."

Photos can be emailed to info@clamshellfoundation.org; or tag the group @clamshellfoundation.

Winners will be announced Sunday and receive the Foundation's limited edition T-shirts and a poster by Frank Wimberley.

"As always, thank you for your support. We are working hard to help our community and 100% of all proceeds go back to those in need," Peters said.
