Woman Hits Daughter,16, With Handheld Metal Mirror: Cops
The woman is facing a felony charge, police say.

EAST HAMPTON, NY — An East Hampton mom hit her daughter, 16, with a handheld metal mirror, police said.
According to East Hampton Town Police, the incident took place on May 16 at 5 p.m. in East Hampton when the woman, 57, struck her daughter, 16, across the forehead with the mirror, causing "a raised welt, a laceration with bleeding, and significant pain."
The woman, who Patch isn't naming to protect her daughter, was charged with second degree assault, intent to cause physical injury with a weapon/instrument, a felony, as well as acting in a manner that injures a child less than 17, a misdemeanor.

Cash bail was set at $2,500, police said.
