Find out all the latest details about the marathon, which will take place in early May.

In preparation for the Long Island Marathon next month, Nassau County Executive Laura Curran corralled NEFCU 2019 Long Island Marathon leadership, local athletes and sponsors to discuss the new course, new events, call for volunteers and encourage registration.
The 46th annual Long Island Marathon weekend will take from Friday, May 3 through Sunday, May 5, and will feature a full festival of events including the Long Island Health & Fitness EXPO, guest speakers, races for families and kids, and the marathon’s first Food Truck Festival featuring over a dozen local food vendors. Visit the website for more information on the schedule of events, registration and volunteer opportunities.
“The Long Island Marathon is one of the region’s most exciting athletic events, which has evolved from a small race that attracted avid runners more than 40 years ago, to a weekend long festival for kids, families, and the entire community,” Curran said. “This year’s race anticipates over 5,000 participants but there is still room to register - and with an expanded lineup of events, there is an increased need for volunteers. Whether you’re an athlete, a foodie, a spectator or a volunteer – I encourage all residents to take part in this iconic Long Island event.”

In addition to the marathon, Race Awesome created an all new Long Island Health & Fitness EXPO, to be held over two days in a marquee tent at the marathon’s start/finish-line area. The EXPO will feature fitness vendors from across Long Island, as well as NEFCU Long Island Marathon sponsors.
This family-friendly health and fitness weekend is aimed at motivating people to engage in a healthy lifestyle within their community. The free event will be open to the general public. Expo visitors can sample nutritious food, try out the latest exercise equipment, test drive technology, explore recovery products and listen to lectures from industry professionals and pro-athletes.
