Westbury’s Nevaeh Moody Honored for Academic and Athletic Excellence

WESTBURY, NEW YORK—Westbury High School senior Nevaeh Moody was recognized for her academic and athletic excellence by the Nassau County Volleyball Coaches Association. The outside hitter received the Scholar Athlete Award and all-county honors at the association’s awards night.

“Nevaeh is a player any coach would want on their team,” said Jaclyn Beraud, head coach of the Westbury High School girls varsity volleyball team. “I first coached her in middle school and witnessed her tremendous growth due to her strong work ethic and drive to succeed. She was a varsity player for the past four years and team captain for the past three.”

Nevaeh thrived throughout her senior season and was named to Newsday’s list of the top 100 volleyball players for the 2025 season. She recorded 126 kills and 38 blocks and took part in the all-star game.

“It is not often that a player comes along with the heart and desire to better herself and her teammates at the level Nevaeh has,” said Coach Beraud. “She was a key player and leader in our program, and we will miss her next year.”

Following her graduation from Westbury High School, Nevaeh will continue her academic and volleyball careers at SUNY Cortland.
