EAST MEADOW, NY — Students proudly celebrated their heritage during George McVey Elementary School's vibrant Culture Day celebration on May 19.
Families, students, and staff gathered to honor the many cultures and traditions represented throughout the school community.
Classrooms were filled with colorful displays, personal stories, and presentations highlighting countries, customs, and family traditions from around the world.
Some students and family members wore traditional clothing, while others created projects and exhibits to share with classmates about their backgrounds.
The event gave students a chance to learn more about one another, celebrate and explore diversity, and take pride in the unique cultures that make up the George McVey school community.
