• ZZ Top Will Keep Touring After Frank Beard's Death (wrkr.com) — ZZ Top will continue touring after drummer Frank Beard's death, and their 2026 schedule includes a September 1 show at Harry Chapin Lakeside Theatre in East Meadow. With Billy Gibbons now the band's only original member, they're honoring Beard's wish that the music go on while playing dates across the U.S. and Latin America.
• East Meadow community steps up for Nassau veterans (liherald.com) — East Meadow residents are helping stock the Vet Mart Pantry at Nassau University Medical Center, which provides food and essentials to veterans and their families across the county. A recent Veterans Valor Food Drive & Walk at Eisenhower Park drew more than 100 participants and local officials, and the pantry on Hempstead Turnpike remains open weekday mornings for veterans seeking support.
