WESTBURY, NEW YORK—As part of Box Tops for Education's 30th anniversary, four Westbury School District schools were selected to receive a combined $120,000 in Bonus Box Tops donations. Drexel Avenue Elementary School, Park Avenue Elementary School, Powells Lane Elementary School, and Westbury Middle School were selected from more than 800,000 schools across the United States to each receive $30,000.

The Westbury schools were recognized at Madison Square Garden on August 10 for a celebratory event, during which they received checks for their "300,000 Box Tops." The Bonus Box Tops program and Madison Square Garden event were made possible by General Mills, Box Tops for Education, Walmart, the New York Knicks, and Knicks legend Allan Houston.

"Our district has proudly participated in the Box Tops for Education program for 30 years," said Westbury School District Superintendent Dr. Tahira A. DuPree Chase. "It is powerful to witness how the seemingly small actions of clipping, scanning, and collecting Box Tops result in long-term investments that truly pay off. We would like to express sincere gratitude to General Mills, Box Tops for Education, Walmart, the New York Knicks, and Allan Houston for supporting the Westbury School District community. We would also like to thank our community members for their continued participation and commitment that has produced a tremendous impact."

Box Tops for Education has run its iconic program since 1996, enabling communities to contribute to their schools through their grocery purchases of General Mills products. According to Box Tops for Education's website, schools throughout the United States have earned nearly $1 billion and counting through Box Tops.
