• West Hempstead woman, Lakeview man charged in alleged rental scams (liherald.com) — East Meadow residents are being warned about alleged rental scams that Nassau County police say targeted homes in West Hempstead, East Meadow, and Hicksville, with two people now facing multiple burglary and fraud charges. Detectives believe there may be more victims and are urging anyone who suspects they were scammed in a rental situation to contact Crime Stoppers or the Third Squad, noting callers can remain anonymous.
