โข East Meadow 15-year-old wins state pageant crown (longislandpress.com) โ An East Meadow High School sophomore has been crowned National American Miss Jr. Teen New York and is using her platform to inspire girls' confidence. Between pageants, a medical internship at East Meadow Medical Clinic, and her Nourish the World nonprofit, she's organizing food drives at the high school that support Long Island Cares.

โข NICE Bus launching new north/south Mini Mile service โ The Long Island Times (litimes.org) โ A new NICE Mini MILE pilot will soon connect East Meadow northโsouth to Bellmore's LIRR station, schools, shops, and community centers on weekdays. Starting Sept. 21, riders can use super stops or the NICE Mini app, with free rides through October before a $3 fare kicks in.
