EAST MEADOW, NY — Two adults and one child were hospitalized following an East Meadow house fire on Friday morning, the Nassau County Fire Marshal's Office said.
The East Meadow Fire Department responded to a two-story cape-style home on Bellmore Road after receiving a fire call at 2:35 a.m., fire marshals said.
According to fire marshals, the fire was in the bedroom, and three adults and one child were in the house at the time of the fire. They are currently displaced due to a lack of power and fire damage to their home, fire marshals said.
Two adults and one child were taken to Nassau University Medical Center for smoke inhalation, fire marshals said.
About 50 firefighters brought the fire under control within 20 minutes, fire marshals said.
Mutual aid assistance was provided by Wantagh and North Bellmore, all under the command of Chief Guidice, according to fire officials.
Fire marshals said the NCFM's Office and NCPD Arson/Bomb Squad are investigating the fire.
