EAST MEADOW, NY — A 58-year-old pedestrian died after she was struck while crossing Hempstead Turnpike in East Meadow on Wednesday evening, Nassau County police said.
According to police, a 2014 Lexus driven by a 32-year-old woman westbound on Hempstead Turnpike near Clearmeadow Drive struck the pedestrian at 6:56 p.m.
The pedestrian was taken to a local hospital where she was pronounced deceased, police said.
The investigation is ongoing, police said.
