Liz English Installed as 2011 Long Island Board of REALTORS® President

The Long Island Board of REALTORS® Inc. (LIBOR) has named Liz English, of Netter Real Estate in West Islip, as 2011 Board President.  Liz, with her husband Ron at her side, was sworn into office by close friends Dianne Scalza, Women's Council of REALTORS® (WCR) President-elect, and Carol Clarke, a Past President of the Virginia Association of REALTORS®.  The installation was held at the association's recent Installation Gala at the Crest Hollow Country Club.  Liz will serve as the 72nd President of the Long Island Board of REALTORS®.   

Liz has been a Licensed Associate Broker with Netter for 24 years.  She holds the CBR, e-PRO, GREEN, SFR and SRES designations.  She  graduated from Adelphi University with honors in English and received her Master of Arts from Stony Brook University.  Liz began her involvement at the board serving as a Director for the Suffolk South Shore Chapter; she then served as Vice President and President, respectively. She received the Distinguished Service Award for her commitment and dedication to the Chapter. 

 As Secretary, Treasurer and President-elect of LIBOR, Liz has continually encouraged the diverse membership of the board to participate in their Chapters and on LIBOR committees, striving for everyone's voice to be heard. She is a NYSAR Director and serves on numerous committees.  Liz has been a NAR Director for four years and has served on the Public Policy Coordinating Committee and will be serving on the Fair Housing and Cultural Diversity Committee in 2011.   She is on the Governing Board of WCR.  She has enjoyed working on Habitat for Humanity and Rebuilding Together Long Island projects with LIBOR, as well as numerous charitable initiatives spearheaded by LIBOR's Public Relations Committee, of which she is a member.

In her community, she is an active member of AAUW and Hadassah and is an ardent supporter of both the American Cancer Society and The Morgan Center. Liz, Ron, her husband of 44 years and their cat, Georgie Girl, live in West Islip; seasonally in Westhampton Beach.   Their son Will, lives in Portland, ME.
