
NuHealth's Executive Vice President of Operations Larry Slatky was recently picked to receive a distinguished service award from the American College of Healthcare Administrators (ACHCA). NuHealth is the parent organization to the Nassau University Medical Center, located in East Meadow.
Slatky has participated in volunteer work for approximately 35 with the ACHCA. He has served in national and local chapter positions, where he was the president of the New York chapter and assisted in the operations success of the organization.
Slatky will accepted his award at the ACHCA 45th annual conference, which will be held in New Orleans from Apr. 29 through May 3. The ACHCA provides services for its professional membership base. They strive to identify health care leaders and promote high quality performance in their field.

“I am truly honored to have been selected to receive the prestigious ACHCA Distinguished Service Award," said Slatky is a Mar. 23 press release from NuHealth. "This award is a testament to the organization’s focus of promoting excellence among long term administrators and I look forward on continuing my volunteer work with the ACHCA team on state and national levels."
In 2001, Slatky, a Cold Spring Harbor resident, began working with the Nassau Health Care Corporation by providing consultation. He was made the senior vice president of Nassau Health Care Corporation in 2003. Having initiated many improvements, he was named executive vice president of NuHealth's system in 2009.
