Astronomical Observing Friday Night

Have you seen the planet Venus with your eyes, or through a telescope? Can I see other planets? What are those bright objects in the night sky? What are constellations and where can I find them?
If questions like that have intrigued you, my astronomy club, the Amateur Observers' Society of NY, is planning a public observing program at the Theodore Roosevelt Nature Center at Jones Beach on Fri night, Nov 15, 7:30pm. Let us be your guiding hand and take you for a journey though the universe.
The indoor presentation will be followed with observing outside (dress warmly as it is cold at the beach) through our telescopes, including the 20 inch Great SCOT, acquired through a grant from the Long Island Sierra Club.
Please register at 516-780-3295. There is a $4 charge per person to the Parks Dept.
The heavens await you. www.aosny.org
