#11 Georgetown Ends Two Game Losing Streak, Beats St. John’s at the Garden
Georgetown knocks off St. John's in matchup at the Garden

Hollis Thompson didn’t get off to the greatest start for the Hoyas. In fact, he didn’t record a point in the first half. However, that didn’t stop him from continuing to shot after the break and Georgetown should be glad that he didn’t. The 6’8” junior connected on four of his five shots from behind the arc and finished with 20 points as the 11th ranked Hoyas knocked off the St. John’s Red Storm 69-49.
"Coming out of halftime you have to say 'Well, none have dropped but I have confidence in my shooting and if the last ones haven't dropped that means I got one coming soon,' " said Thompson, who leads the Big East in 3-point shooting at 52.4 percent.
Thompson wasn’t the only one scoring for Georgetown (14-3, 4-2 Big East) as Jason Clark added 15 points to go along with his 8 assists and 8 rebounds. Freshman Otto Porter was also a big asset in this one, scoring 13 points and grabbing 10 boards.

Freshman Moe Harkless led the way for the Johnnies (8-9, 2-4 Big East), putting up 21 points and collecting 10 rebounds. However, he fouled out of the game with 5:15 to play, which helped Georgetown extend their lead.
St. John’s has now dropped four of their last five games and are now 0-7 this season against ranked teams. St. John's, which came into the game 15th in the 16-team Big East in 3-point shooting at 25.8 percent, finished 0 of 10 from beyond the arc.
