Can the Real Bachelor, Please, Stand Up?

Sean is proposing tonight. Some care, some don't. It's reality TV. LOL

Reality TV stinks. Many of you, at some time or another, have sat through an episode of reality TV. There are so many shows that involve real people or real celebrities in real situations; or so they claim.

Having some time to relax after having made a delicious gourmet meal for my husband, and after cleaning up the kitchen, I jump on the couch, and turn on the TV, to find a handsome young man named Sean Lowe on the 17th season of "The Bachelor." Sean is looking for his true soul mate, and some one (maybe the show producer) has told him, that she IS one of the 25 women that has been selected for him. He proceeds to meet, chat, and giggle with the ladies for nine weeks during which time he and the girls are wisked off to fabulously romantic countries around the world.

At the end of each episode, he painfully "sends home one or two girls" making his quest, in finding his true love, a little easier. The cameras roll inside the limo, as the girl who did not receive a rose, tearfully asks the recurring question.."What is wrong with me? Why can't I find true love?" and other silly comments like, " I loved him so much." To which I say, "You loved him? In three weeks, with cameramen, producers, hair and makeup people running around the two of you, you did what?!! You fell in love with him?!!" I believe the Bachelor, and each of the girls, shared all of 15 minutes together, each week.

So, the addicted viewer, who just wants to be entertained and not have to follow a complex plot and story line, is now so involved in the drama of the show, that the show's ratings are sky rocketing. This season's Bachelor drama queen was Tiera(Yes. I have been watching.) That's what executive producers want..their money and then some!!! So, while my friends and I veg-out on the couch watching this particular reality show..some one is getting rich and laughing all the way to the bank.

Reality TV is often scripted...I have that from a reliable source..one of the Kardashians was quoted in People magazine. (But that's for another day and another blog.) Seriously, folks...let's get real! If you believe all which you see..that's sweet..and you're probably a naive 12-year-old. In real life, what we do and say,is never clipped and cut and dropped to the floor. Life is not edited. We are the only ones that can change our behavior. But after words are said, there is no taking them back. In real life, you have to apologize to move forward.

But on reality TV, this is how it's done...Director: "I like how that looks, but can you place your right hand on her leg? Yes. Right there, over her knee. And you..can you lean forward a tiny bit, so that your hair is gently flowing on his shirt? Yes! Looks good. Now. where were we? Ah, yes, he was telling you about his life growing up in Kansas.

Tonight, Sean Lowe picks the girl he wants to marry. Tonight he proposes, and millions will be watching. My spoiler alert is this: he selects Catherine...but who REALLY cares? Not I.

PEACE.
