July 6 was the fourth day of Jose Reyes' "grade 1 hamstring strain." On July 7, we find out that Jose Reyes will be out at least a month.
Seriously? How is it that this keeps happening to the Mets? I mean Chase Utley was basically left for dead with his entire knee shredded and he was back after missing about six weeks.
Albert Pujols breaks his wrist, and he's out for 15 days. Ike Davis collides with David Wright on a pretty innocent looking play and he's on the verge of being lost for the season with microfracture surgery.

There's no way to tell what is really going on with the Mets' medical staff, but there comes a point where someone has to be held accountable. This type of misdiagnosis has been going since Carlos Beltran took "the curveball" for strike three.
Jose's legs are what he gets paid for. No one in the game can match him on the base paths because of them.

I understand that the Mets organization wants to take a slow and cautious approach with his injury, but you can't continuously tell this beaten down fan base that "it's this, but we were wrong, and now it's the worst case scenario."
For those keeping score at home, this year, we've had the following injuries have have gone from day-to-day to long term DL time:
- Ike Davis "sprained ankle"
- David Wright "sore back"
- Jose Reyes "grade 1 hamstring strain - the least severe strain"
- Angel Pagain "strained oblique"
- Jason Bay "strained oblique"
- Taylor Buchholz "shoulder fatigue"
Every Mets fan loves this team because they are a lunch pail crew. A blue collared crew led by the likes of R.A. Dickey, who has a torn ligament in his foot, along with a pulled butt muscle.
Carlos Beltran, who everyone seriously was trying to run out of town before he played a game in right field this season, has been an iron man. This is the same Carlos Beltran who was essentially looked at as a salary albatross who would maybe play four games per week.
Not Carlos Beltran, who would become our lone All-Star representative. And don't forget about Jason Isringhausen, who has had three Tommy John surgeries on his elbow. I believe that he's been instrumental to Bobby Parnell and Pedro Beato's resurgence in the past month.
Of course this team is easy to root for. Is it because they have the best players? No. It's because every time we have been kicked in the groin this year, we've gotten back up and kicked back harder.
Now, I just hope the Mets have reached their insurance deductible. I can't stomach the Wilpons selling off anyone worth anything to pay for these medical bills.
